Welcome 2009
It’s a New Year! Whoo Hoo! Now what are you going to do about it? Don’t you just hate the way the New Year makes you feel like you have to do something DRASTIC with your life? Lose 25 pounds! Train for a marathon! Stop drinking! Quit smoking! Recreate your style! Live more adventurously! Be more responsible! It’s like a big New Year’s monkey on your back.
But think about it. If you didn’t feel like it was such a huge undertaking, you probably would make a few small changes that just might point you in the right direction. Right? So, instead of doing more in 2009, here at In Full Force, we’re actually going to do a hell of a lot LESS!
That’s right. We’re not producing 10 different events in 2009. Instead, we’re focusing on a more selective number of events and blowing those out BIG! And don’t you dare vow to lose 25 pounds. Just start an exercise regimen that will likely take the weight off anyway. Don’t transform your fashion style, just clean out the damn closet! Before you know it you have the vision to dress more stylishly. And just maybe seeing your skinny jeans will inspire the runner (or walker) in you. Don’t go back to school to get your Master’s Degree. Simply take the time to read the newspaper in the morning. It just might inspire a new career, open your eyes to a new business idea, introduce a destination your heart longs to visit, or teach you a few tricks that will help you be a better parent, daughter, sister or friend.
Baby steps, you know?
That’s our focus for this issue of Fabulous News. We thought back over the past year about the small things that made a difference in our lives. And we realized that it wasn’t the major league initiatives that we undertook that had the most impact. It was the small, unexpected things that blew us away. The people. The places. The unexpected things that weren’t on our “list of things to do,” but so just happened to have the most impact. Maybe it was a person (or persons) we were lucky enough to meet. A fashion accessory that made us shine. Or a realization that doing less really is more.
So, here’s a New Year’s wish for all of our FABULOUS friends. That you will do less with your life this New Year! Don’t announce some drastic resolution for 2009. Simply give yourself the time to appreciate your potential. Tap into something new. Seek out some sage advice. Read more about what interests you. Be happy with yourself and realize that maybe you are pretty damn fabulous just the way you are. With that said … Happy New Year …. Happy Old You!

An Inspiring Woman with an Inspirational Radio Show
Here’s one of our greatest finds of 2008. Yup, it’s a person. So, get rid of that pile of self-help books that are gathering dust next to your bed and just do this. Tap into Mel Robbins’ psyche. We told you about Mel Robbins in a previous newsletter when we profiled her as our “Woman of the Month”. And if you attended Fabulous In Full Force West of Boston last spring or Women, Wisdom & YOU in New York City last fall, you were lucky enough to see this fabulous woman in action.
But if you missed those events, your opportunity is not lost. There’s plenty of Mel to go around. She’s made it her mission to be a part of millions of peoples’ lives. (Seriously, that is her mission!) Visit her website at www.melrobbins.com. Listen to her daily talk-radio show that changes the lives of callers through honest and frank problem solving. Purchase her audio workshop by clicking here and Mel will tell you how to create and keep a ‘wealth mindset’ no matter what’s going on with the funky economy. Or find out where Mel is speaking (hopefully it will be at an upcoming In Full Force event) and make sure you’re there. We heard her speak at the Mass Conference for Women recently and even though we know we’ve heard her speak before … we still left inspired and ready to tackle our goals in a new and reinvigorated way.
Tap into what Mel Robbins has to say. Hell, friend her on facebook and see how she lives each day with optimism and originality. Just get some Mel in ’09 and your resolutions will be easily done.
It’s What’s On the Inside that Counts
About that weighty issue of losing the fat this New Year. Did you know that if you wear the right bra, you don’t even need to exercise? Well, that’s not true. But wearing the right bra will most certainly make you feel more beautiful. It’s all about finding the right bra size, the perfect cup, and strap placement. The lift and centering a well-fitting bra achieves will shave years and pounds off your look. Whether you’re a size B or double D, getting your bra to fit correctly can be a mind-boggling endeavor. And no matter how hard you try, it seems your cup is always half empty or half full … and sometimes even overflowing! We have just the expert help for you! We were lucky to work with the experts at Night & Day at many of our events last year. Now our friends from Night & Day invite you for a personalized bra fitting. This is a fabulous service for your sisters! First of all, it’s free. And secondly, this new bra fit will have you (and your boobs) walking straighter and looking brighter than ever before!
Seeing is believing. Night & Day Lingerie has locations in Andover and Newburyport. Click here to learn more!

So, we realize we told you to simplify things this New Year. But when it comes to Red Sox fever, the more elaborate the better. So, if you’re a die-hard Red Sox fan with a flair for fashion, check out this bejeweled Red Sox hat encrusted with genuine Swarovski crystals.
Want to feel immediately accomplished? Here’s something you can do to help the community right off the bat in ’09. Help save Northshore Music Theatre. It’s at risk of closing. And helping may be as easy as purchasing a ticket to their current production, High School Musical 2. See, you can do that! For more than a half century, the Northshore Music Theatre has delivered the best performing arts and educational programs North of Boston. Now, the Beverly institution needs your support. They are asking the public to show their support by purchasing tickets to the remaining performances of Disney’s High School Musical 2, which runs through January 11. To purchase tickets or make a philanthropic donation
Bellevue Cadillac is Jazz, Gospel, Blues, Soul and Swing on top of Rock and Roll. And their band leader Doug Bell is a survivor of Bronchioalveolar lung cancer. So you gotta know they'll be playing their hearts out for this gig. Bellevue Cadillac played at The Very Best of the South Shore event that In Full Force produced with The Lantana this past August so we know first hand how they can rock the house. Tickets are $20 for the groovin' tunes and $65 if you want to eat while you rock. Show starts at 8 p.m.
Okay, we gave you our recommendations for what we think you should explore in 2009. Now, here’s what we’re going to do. We mentioned that we are taking things a bit slower here at In Full Force this coming year. And we meant it. When we launched this fabulous company, we set out to make our mark on the brand staging, marketing, and special events industry. And we accomplished that in some truly fabulous ways. We learned pretty quickly about what makes our fabulous friends happy – ample parking and easy access to the cocktails at our events immediately come to mind! And we also learned about the types of projects that we love to wrap our talents around. So we decided to focus on those types of endeavors. There are a lot of fabulous things in store. But here’s a snapshot of what’s shakin’ in ’09.
Dirty Water TV has been a part of In Full Force’s portfolio of marketing initiatives for about 2 years now. But in 2009, it’s going to become more of a focus as the hot entertainment and nightlife television show reaches new heights on a new TV station – NESN Saturday nights at 11:30 p.m. starting January 17th, 2009.
We spent a lot of time last year telling you about Women, Wisdom and YOU, the New York City event that created a unique event experience that engaged women and contributed something meaningful to their life. We did this because we believe that women are motivated and inspired by other women and the emotional connections they share.
When you think about a fabulous summer fashion event, what comes to mind? Is it a fashion show? A Shecky’s or Style FIXX Girls Night Out? One of our Fabulous In Full Force events? Or something totally different? Now take all of those fantastic ideas about fashion, friends and fun and get ready for the fabulous fashion event In Full Force is working with CambridgeSide Galleria to produce on a Thursday night in early June 2009.
